Colombina Supplier Programs

Big Brother

The Big Brother program is one of our most important initiatives to boost competitiveness and strengthen the business ecosystem. Through it, we provide our suppliers, entrepreneurs, and clients in our areas of influence with tools to enhance their production, administrative, and commercial processes, fostering competitive and sustainable growth.

Currently, the program has 152 participants across Colombia and Guatemala.

Big Brother Sponsored Businesses

Since the launch of the program, we have sponsored 152 supplier companies, entrepreneurs, micro-entrepreneurs, and clients — strengthening the business ecosystem and contributing to the region’s development. Each participating company is encouraged to replicate this model within their own value chain.

Some of our Big Brothers include:

Supplier Certification Program

Through our Supplier Certification Program, we aim to foster a collaborative work environment, build lasting partnerships, and align our suppliers with our integrated management systems. This alignment ensures that our suppliers’ continuous improvement is reflected in the quality of the products and services we receive.

We certify suppliers who have demonstrated excellent performance in the measured indicators across the program’s three phases and who meet the highest quality and food safety standards, thereby ensuring food safety throughout the supply chain.

This process is supported by SGS Colombia’s shared-seal certification, which reaffirms the transparency of our evaluation process.

Currently, we have 70 certified suppliers providing transportation, raw materials, and packaging in Colombia and Guatemala.

Social and Environmental Assessment

Colombina prioritizes working with suppliers who actively manage their social, environmental, and corporate governance practices. To support this, we continuously assess our value chain with the sole objective of helping our suppliers strengthen key impact areas such as governance, community, workers, the environment, and customers. As part of this commitment, we developed the program “Measure what Matters + Colombina,” which uses the B Impact Assessment tool to measure and guide improvements.

To date, we have evaluated 545 suppliers on their social and environmental practices.

We have also provided guidance and training to 160 companies identified as needing to improve these practices. These companies are re-evaluated after implementing their action plans, in order to validate progress and ensure continuous improvement.
