• Equipares is a Gender Equality Management System that certifies companies and organizations that implement effective actions to close gender gaps.
• Colombina secures the Equipares Gold Seal certification for the second time, making history in Colombia by achieving a perfect score of 100/100 in meeting the requirement
Cali, December 2023. Colombina, a global food company, has once again been awarded the Gold Seal recertification for the Equipares Gender Equity Management System. This prestigious certification, granted by the Labor Ministry, underscores the company's ongoing dedication to promoting equality through a methodology that systematically incorporates a gender perspective into its operational processes.
The Equipares certification meticulously assesses eight dimensions: recruitment, remuneration, professional development, training, work-life balance, work environment, workplace and sexual harassment, and non-sexist communication. This comprehensive evaluation informs a diagnostic process, facilitating the implementation and assessment of action plans to ensure the company's continued commitment to equality and a gender-sensitive approach.
"We take great pride in receiving this recertification, as it serves as a testament to our unwavering commitment to promote an organizational culture where gender equity is upheld. It reflects the collective dedication of a team increasingly aware that diversity and inclusion are integral to achieving superior outcomes, fostering corporate growth, and contributing to a better world," states César Caicedo, Chief Executive Officer.
Colombina initiated the implementation of its Gender Equity Management System in 2013, leading to enhanced human talent management and the development of essential tools for cultivating an increasingly inclusive and diversity-respecting culture. Key initiatives include the establishment of wellness programs promoting work-life balance, the design of productive processes ensuring universal safety, the introduction of a training program covering equity, diversity, and inclusion for all stakeholders, ongoing inclusive management of internal processes, and the pioneering application of the salary equity model proposed by ILO Convention 100—making Colombina the first private company in Latin America to adopt this model.
Today, 38% of Colombina's workforce comprises women, with women holding 40% of management positions. Notably, the company has trained over 180 women in roles traditionally associated with male dominance in the current year. This reinforces Colombina's commitment to breaking gender stereotypes and fostering an environment of equal opportunities.
