Kids Take Over Madrid to Unveil the New KFC Fresquito

May 06 2025

• KFC partners with Fiesta to reimagine the classic Fresquito lollipop in a brand-new version shaped like a chicken drumstick.
• To celebrate the launch, kids take the spotlight by adding their colorful creativity to some of Madrid’s most iconic spots.

Madrid, May 6, 2025.

This morning, several of Madrid’s most well-known landmarks were transformed with bright, playful artwork created by children. The city became a canvas of imagination as kids took over the streets to celebrate the arrival of the new KFC Fresquito—a bold collaboration between KFC and Fiesta that gives the iconic lollipop an unexpected twist.

From Avenida de América station to city cars and even a billboard for Babaria, children brought their vision to life in public spaces, introducing the new Fresquito lollipop in their own expressive style. With total creative freedom, they became the face of the launch—turning this campaign into a spontaneous and vibrant street activation that perfectly captures KFC’s irreverent and playful spirit.

Following the surprise success of the Kojak ice cream in 2024, KFC and Fiesta are once again shaking up expectations—this time by introducing KFC into the world of candy for the very first time. The goal? To connect with a younger audience while tapping into the nostalgia of those who grew up with these beloved childhood treats.

The result is the all-new KFC Fresquito: a chicken drumstick-shaped lollipop dusted with a fizzy powder inspired by KFC’s famous crispy coating. For this limited-edition release, the iconic Fresquito wrapper also gets a makeover. Instead of the familiar character, it now features none other than Colonel Sanders himself—KFC’s founder and the brand’s global face. This creative mashup brings together two legendary brands to celebrate childhood memories in a fresh and unexpected way.

The KFC Fresquito is now available for just €1 with the purchase of any combo meal at KFC restaurants across Spain, through the KFC app and website, and in select convenience stores—while supplies last.

About KFC

KFC is a global restaurant brand with over 80 years of history. It all began when our founder, Colonel Sanders, created the world’s most famous fried chicken recipe and opened the first KFC. Since then, we’ve honored his legacy by hand-breading our chicken daily using his original method and secret blend of 11 herbs and spices—enjoyed by millions of people every day.

Today, KFC operates more than 25,000 restaurants in 145 countries. In Spain, where we’ve been present since the 1970s, our growth continues. With the support of 17 franchise partners, we now have over 350 restaurants across Spain and Portugal—and we’re committed to bringing our iconic flavor to even more people.
